Does StoryCorps Connect record video or just audio? Why does StoryCorps Connect request access to my device's camera and microphone?

At StoryCorps, we only archive audio, and our Online Archive only houses audio, so your StoryCorps Connect interview will be preserved as an audio file only.

While you can see your interview partner via webcam while recording a StoryCorps Connect interview, none of the video feed is available afterwards on archive.storycorps.org. However, StoryCorps Connect does use that video feed to take snapshots of you and your interview partner to accompany the recording.
