How do I adjust my browser's camera and microphone settings so I can record with Connect250?
StoryCorps' Connect250 video recording platform needs permission to access your device’s microphone and camera.
By giving access, you are allowing the platform to record your interview and permissions that enable you to see your conversation partner throughout the 40-minute recording.
What happens if you do not grant StoryCorps' Connect250 platform permissions?
If you do not give permission for the platform to access your microphone and camera when you entered the recoding room, or were not prompted by a pop-up to give access to your microphone and webcam, you will need to do so via your browser settings.
You can give this permission after the fact by navigating to your browser’s Settings and adjusting the microphone and camera settings you previously selected.
The steps you need to take to adjust your camera and microphone permissions will vary depending on the browser you are using. You can find instructions for this via a Google search or for some of the most common browsers using the links below:
Note: If you have multiple cameras or microphones connected to your device, you may instead need to adjust which one you have given access to in order to record your interview.
